Application Process

Step One: Complete and Send the Preliminary Application Loan Data Sheet

Each institution must complete a preliminary application form and send it to the Commerce Capital Access Program for review. The completed preliminary application form provides an overview of enrollment trends, financial data and proposed project information. This form also allows Commerce Capital Access Program (CCAP) to preview this information to evaluate the likelihood of loan approval.

Preliminary Application

Step Two: Send in Additional Documentation

Upon review of the preliminary application and a determination that a school meets the requirements, additional documentation will be requested to help draft and complete a decisional memorandum in a later stage of the process. Documents should be sent to Commerce Capital Access Program in the order that they appear on the following Required Application Documentation Checklist, in a secure binder(s), and labeled appropriately. Please be sure to submit all required documentation to the Commerce Capital Access Program. No loan application will be processed until all required documents are submitted in the appropriate form. Document definitions can be found in the Required Application Documentation Checklist.

Step Three: Site Visit and Interview

Upon receipt of and review of all submitted documentation, representatives from the Commerce Capital Access Program will schedule a site visit and an interview with the eligible institution. Commerce Capital Access Program will consider additional information gathered from the site visit and from the interview in the continuing process of the application review. When the review process is completed, a decision will be provided to the institution.
